We love the Minions from Despicable Me… Here are a few things that you might not have known about the Minions!
- Russell Brand based his character DrNefario on a “mellower” version of the one and only Ray Winstone – star of Sexy Beast and Gangs Of New York (amongst other things)
- The Minions’ language includes a mix of French, Spanish… and some food references of course…
- As well as bananas the Minions love apples (or “papples” as they call them) and they get drunk on ice cream.
- The vivid purple shade that the “evil” Minions take on in Despicable Me 2 stemmed from the fact that purple is the opposite of yellow on the colour spectrum.
- Minions were originally designed to be human-sized thugs. But the studio ran out of money, so the Minions ended up being short.
