We all know that once Halloween is over and November has rolled around, the season of overindulgence is officially upon us. So prepare for the feasting and spiced-deliciousness of the season because we’ve rounded up the best London pop-ups happening this November. From the return of East-London favourites such as Night Tales (every delicious type of food van under one roof) to getting snuggly in a ‘pillow cinema’ set in an old underground station!
London Pop-Ups November 2014Based in Balham, this pop-up is offering everything fondue related until January so get down here if you want to pretend you’re in the Alps somewhere for a post-ski dinner. It’ll be pretty easy to imagine you’re abroad, since The Lodge is decked out in ski-inspired decor. Prepare to have cheese, bread and good wines.
2. Night Tales
Night Tales brings together a mixture of East-end vibes, funky food and good music in one. Expect to see food vans from brands like Voodoo Ray’s pizza and tasting drinks from brands such as Whiskey Station. This is the place to be if you want to spend a night til the early morning in Shoreditch. Open from this weekend!
3. Turn Tables
Something very similar to Night Tales with the key themes being food, music and ‘vibes’, Turn Tables is set canalside in Hackney Wick every Thursday to Sunday from 13th November. You can expect to hear a bit of disco, house and everything eclectic. But the street food is also a big part of the package. Taste the delights of Popdogs, White Men Can’t Jerk and Original Fry-Up Material. With plenty of spiced rums, mulled wine and hot cider to drink whilst sat in heated tents and around fire pits you’ll be feeling the Christmas spirit in no time!
4. The Montague
Another ski-inspired situation over here. The Montague Hotel have decked out their hotel into a Ski Chalet with fake snow falling, pine trees, snowmen and reindeers. For a £25 ‘ski pass’ you can get a full-on feast of turkey burgers, bratwurst and deep fried camembert cheese alongside festive drinks like schnapps, flavoured vodka, spiced beer and mulled wine. Open from 19th November.
5. Happy Endings Dessert Night
Course after course of dessert. That’s right. Head down to Hackney Central to experience one of the best London pop-ups happening this November. For the 8th-9th you can enjoy a menu of desserts and cocktails to match.
What’s always missing from a trip to your local Odeon? PILLOWS, of course. That’s why the Shoreditch based, Pillow Cinema has hit the nail on the head with this one. You can go here to enjoy a full on Ryan Gosling fest in the former Shoreditch underground station through November, for the cosiest, ‘night-in, night-out’.
Taking over a huge car park in East London, here you can experience the delights of a huge variety of food trucks from hot dogs to craft beers, there undoubtedly will be something to take your fancy. Free entry, 5pm – midnight every day til 20 December, so plenty of time to try something from each food van.
