The game is about to change as Facebook step up to the next level and will be offering shoppable content as part of their commercial business pages. It’s not just photos and videos anymore. You will be able to have an integrated shop tab on your Facebook Page. It’s a step closer to Facebook eCommerce feature.
Facebook is fulfilling its larger goal of keeping users in its apps and website as long as possible.Buzzfeed has announced new featured coming to Facebook Pages. It’s a mini e-shop implemented into Facebook Page. It’s a part of big movement towards e-commerce. Other big changes are Messenger improvements (Messenger payments) and works on Virtual Messenger Assistant who is a little bit like Apple’s Siri – helping to with search and finding the products to buy. Thanks to messenger payments development it will facilitate the mechanism of paying in Facebook shop.
Source: BuzzfeedIn the first version of the f-shop there won’t be a search button and there won’t be a commission to pay. However looking at Facebook’s previous changes, the commission or some other type of payment for selling the products may appear.
Facebook is joining the big e-commerce players group?This is a big step towards competing against the e-commerce giants like Amazon or Zalando. It is also a response to recent Google and Pinterest moves – Pinterest introduced buyable pins and Google will be trying out “Buy” button in search results.
It can change the behaviour of e-commerce customers and the ways to reach out to them.
Currently the feature is being tested with few users and a group of e-commerce pages. There is no timeline yet for when it’s going to be roll out to a bigger group of Facebook users.
It’s going to work in a similar way that the current Buy Buttons available on Facebook multi-product ads at the moment.
